6 Must See Companies at Medical Fair Asia 2018
Medical Fair Asia 2018 is bringing in a fresh and new set of some great healthcare-based companies. These companies have taken the old way of healthcare thinking and modernized it in a way that is keeping up with our fast evolving society. Medical Fair Asia 2018 will be held in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from August 29-31.
D-Heart, a company just founded back in 2015 by Nicolò Briante and Niccolò Maurizi, has developed a major breakthrough in ECG (Electrocardiogram) technology. What you would usually have to do at a hospital, you can now do in the comfort of your home, thanks to D-Heart’s at-home ECG device. Before D-Heart, at-home ECG’s were attempted to be made, but were complicated with wires and users had to perform intrusive skin preparation before using the machine. Now, there is a simple, yet reliable, ECG device that is user-friendly and safe, while still providing medically professional results. D-Heart hopes to gather the data collected by their ECG machines and perhaps use it to unveil some of the mysteries still surrounding one of the most important organs in our bodies.
Another big push in the healthcare industry recently is returning to the idea of at-home, personal care. A company that is capitalizing on this push is Jaga-Me. Founded in mid-2016, Jaga-Me is a company that provides multiple at-home medical services. Their mission is to enhance the well-being of patients and their families by providing personalized healthcare experiences. To just name a few of their services, Jaga-Me provides nursing procedures and healthcare at the patient’s home, no matter what level of healthcare it is. Along with these, Jaga-Me also has a medical escort service, driving patients to their appointments if they or a loved one is not able to. Jaga-Me also helps with things like personal care and hygiene, medication reminders, and companionship. With a small membership fee based on a per hour system, anyone is able to access this great service.
Efficiency is what drives industries forward, especially in healthcare. La Comanda was founded back in 2013, but is still developing new technology. La Comanda is an IoTH (internet of things and humans) company, which basically signifies a large, interrelated computing system. The idea behind this company and their technology is their “One Click” ideal, hoping to make tasks be able to be completed in one click. For example, if a family wanted to order a pizza, all they would have to do is click the “pizza” button on their La Comanda device, and it would e-order the pizza for them automatically. In healthcare, this technology has a ton of applications, whether it’s ordering a test, paging a doctor, administer medicine, the applications are really endless.
The main goal of healthcare is to save lives, simple as that. Rapid Response Revival is a company that is actively doing that very thing. Every year, 6 million people die from SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest). These victims end up dying because regular AEDs are large, expensive, and only in certain buildings. However, Rapid Response Revival created the world’s smallest AED. They will be made available for everyone, different from regular AEDs, fixing the difficult access to an AED in a medical emergency. These AEDs are small, easy to use, and fill a need in our society.
Quezapp takes on a more logistical healthcare problem. Doctors see hundreds of patients per week, which is hard to keep track of. Quezapp takes care of this. Providing doctors with the ability to automate patients’ visits and revisits, send referrals to other medical professionals, and have a constantly updating appointment scheduler, Quezapp takes a lot of stress out of doctors. Another perk of the app is the promotion side of it. If a doctor wanted to promote his practice, he can pay Quezapp and they will promote it. We want our medical professionals to be focused on saving lives and Quezapp helps them do that even better.
Medikabazaar is an India-based company that supplies top of the line medical supplies to every pin-code in India for an affordable price. How do they do this?
